A blood test to determine hemoglobin levels in the human body is called hemoglobin assessment. Various techniques, including WHO-recommended POCT and Cyanmethemoglobin methods, can perform hemoglobin tests. Accuracy and precision of lab results for patient diagnosis must be ensured. This study aimed to identify differences in hemoglobin levels of diabetes mellitus patients between POCT and Cyanmethemoglobin methods. This study used a quasi-experimental design. Thirty diabetes mellitus respondents at Pasundan Community Health Center in Samarinda were sampled via venous blood. Results showed the average hemoglobin level by POCT was 13.3 g/dL, standard deviation 1.1 g/dL, and coefficient of variation 8.1%. The average by Cyanmethemoglobin was 12.8 g/dL, standard deviation 1.1 g/dL, and coefficient of variation 8.5%. The Independent T-Test gave a p-value of 0.051 (>α=0.05). Findings showed no difference in hemoglobin levels between POCT and Cyanmethemoglobin methods.
