SEJARAH PENGGUNAAN PESAWAT TERBANG TANPA AWAK (PTTA) DALAM PERANG MODERN DAN PERSIAPAN MILITER INDONESIA

Abstrak - Salah satu teknologi peralatan perang saat ini adalah Penggunaan Pesawat Terbang Tanpa Awak (PTTA), baik untuk pemantauan udara maupun sebagai senjata pemusnah dimana PTTA dapat membawa senjata atau sebagai senjata itu sendiri (kamikaze). Objek penelitian dalam artikel ini adalah sejarah penggunaan PTTA dalam perang modern oleh beberapa negara dengan studi kasus penggunaan PTTA milik Amerika Serikat, Israel, Turki dan China di beberapa wilayah konflik serta persiapan militer Indonesia dalam memanfaatkan PTTA tersebut. Kerangka teori yang dipakai adalah teori kekuatan udara dan terori organisasi. Dalam artikel ini digunakan metode penelitian historis dengan menggunakan data sekunder yaitu dari jurnal dan berita berita dari media online. Dari peperangan atau konflik di beberapa negara, digunakan pesawat terbang tanpa awak, dapat dibuktikan efektivitas dari penggunaan PTTA tersebut. Kementerian Pertahanan Indonesia telah membuat kebijakan untuk penggunaan pesawat terbang tanpa awak (PTTA) dalam beberapa operasi militer dan non militer satuan pasukannya, baik dengan menggunakan PTTA produk dalam negeri maupun luar negeri. Kemandirian industri pertahanan PTTA sangat didorong dengan adanya konsorsium pembuatan Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Elang Hitam.
