QUO VADIS KEMANDIRIAN PERTAHANAN UDARA INDONESIA? ANTARA ILUSI DAN KENYATAAN

Abstract

Kementerian Pertahanan RI memiliki tujuh program industri pertahanan nasional yaitu: jet tempur, kapal selam, medium battle tank, propelan, roket nasional, rudal nasional, dan radar nasional. Khusus untuk program jet tempur, Indonesia bekerja sama dengan Korea Selatan dalam membuat jet tempur generasi 4.5 dengan nama proyek KF-X/IF-X. Untuk tahap pengembangan KF-X/IF-X membutuhkan dana AS$ 8 milyar. Indonesia menanggung AS$ 1,6milyar dengan mendapatkan satu pesawat purwarupa (saja). Namun Indonesia harus mengeluarkan dana lagi jika akan membeli hingga 50 IF-X. Artikel ini hendak mengkaji program KF-X/IF-X dari sisi geopolitik, teknologi penerbangan dan efisiensi anggaran.
