MENENTUKAN KEDALAMAN AIR TANAH DENGAN PENGUKURAN GEOLISTRIK DI DAERAH TONGA, PADANG LAWAS, SUMUT

Abstract

Dalam rangka pemanfaatan air tanah sebagai air baku untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air, di Daerah Tonga dan sekitarnya yang termasuk Kecamatan Barumun Tengah, Kabupaten Padang Lawas, Provinsi Sumatera Utara telah dilaksanakan penelitian air tanah yang berupa pengukuran geolistrik tahanan jenis. Maksud pengukuran geolistrik adalah untuk menduga penyebaran jenis batuan dan gejala-gejala geologi yang terjadi di bawah permukaan secara lateral dan vertikal berdasarkan sifat listrik batuan. Tujuannya adalah untuk menentukan lokasi pengeboran uji (exploration well) dalam rangka pemanfaatan air tanah untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air baku. Air tanah yang berupa akuifer dari hasil pengukuran geolistrik mempunyai nilai tahanan jenis antara 0,42 - 15,00 ? di dalam endapan pasir. Di gudang logistik dilakukan pengeboran uji sampai 150 m di titik VES.1 untuk air tanah kedalaman 17,00 – 34,00 m dan lebih dari 70 m, sedangkan Mess di titik VES.9 untuk air tanah kedalaman antara 11,90 – 52,30 m dan lebih dari 60 m. Ada dua hasil interpretasi untuk nilai tahanan jenis lebih kecil daripada 5 ?m, bisa akuifer kualitas payau – asin atau berupa lapisan serpih. Sesudah dilakukan pengeboran uji untuk menentukan kuantitas air tanah, perlu dilakukan juga pemompaan uji sumur dan analisis kualitas airnya.
