Abstract

Allergic disease has increased rapidly in various developed and growing countries in the world. Increased the amount of leukocytes and found disorders and immature cells are markers from allergies. One of the allergic treatment with sandalwood (Santalum album L.). Sandalwood has a methanol extract that acts as an anti-inflammatory. The purpose of this study to find out the effect of sandalwood extract (Santalum album.L) against the leukocyte cell morphology on the allergic mice.

This research is an experimental research with the posttest only group design method uses 3 groups of experimental mice, namely control mice, allergic mice and allergic mice with sandalwood extract. Data is analyzed with statistical test to see the effect of sandalwood extract against leukocyte cell morphology on allergic mice.

The results showed that from 3 groups of mice, there was an increase in the number of leukocytes in allergic mice and allergic mice with sandalwood extract, namely 83% of the 6 samples and no different disorders and immature leukocyte cells were found. Statistical tests using the One Way Anova test showed no significant effect on administration sandalwood extract on leukocyte morphology of allergic mice with p value 0.133. It was concluded that there was no effect of giving sandalwood extract (Santalum album L.) against the leukocyte cell morphology on the allergic mice.
