Analysis Of Fluoride (F) Levels In Water Types In Samarinda City

Abstract

Water is an essential element needed by all organisms. The types of water widely used are drilled well water, PDAM water, bottled drinking water, and refill drinking water. Water quality can be analyzed from the fluoride levels with the maximum limit of 1.5 mg/L. This research seeks to ascertain the fluoride levels in several types of water using the spectrophotometric UV-VIS method. The research is conducted using a cross-sectional model. Data are analyzed using univariate method. The samples of these study are drilled well water, PDAM water, bottled drinking water, and refill drinking water. The results of the study evidence that the average fluoride levels of each type of water was sequentially 0.628 mg/L; 0.235 mg/L; 0.392 mg/L; and 0.112 mg/L. It shows that the fluoride levels in all types of water qualify regulations set out by the Indonesian Minister of Health number 32 of 2017 and the Indonesian Minister of Health Regulation’s requirements number 2 of 2023.
